Alleged violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) has resulted in a class action lawsuit filed against Wholefoods. According to the lawsuit, an on-line employment application contained language releasing those who obtained a consumer report from all liability. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the suit alleges, prohibits such language in any disclosure/authorization. It also notes that Wholefoods consent form contained an admission that the applicant has not knowingly withheld any adverse information that would affect their chance for employment. Damages in the amount of $1,000. are being sought for each individual affected by the consent form, which could number thousands of people.
