A Federal court jury in Arkansas awarded the family of a diseased truck driver $7 million dollars as a result of a horrific accident which resulted in his fiery death. The jury found that had Dunaway Timber Company conducted a pre-employment background check they would have learned that he driver of the timber tractor trailer that killed Roger Reagan, had his license revoked twice for driving while intoxicated (DWI). That offense disqualified him from operating a commercial vehicle. Unfortunately, Dunaway Timber Company did not do a background search and thus was guilty of Negligent Hiring.
